High Flying Wildcraft Brewery in Worlds First
It’s not often you hear of new phone technology and brewery’s being mentioned in the same sentence but this Easter, Wildcraft Brewery in Buxton, Norfolk, are defying the trend and will be launching a competition like no brewery has done before.
Brewy’s Eggs will see the general public challenged to find the missing eggs of their talisman pink monster, Brewbacca. The eggs can be found on special, interactive, beermats that are being distributed around participating pubs in Norfolk. When 6 are found and collected, participants are entered into a competition to win a flight with the Wildcat Aerobatics Team who are performing at the Brewery’s annual festival on the 1st June and have a collaboration beer with Wildcraft, soon to be launched.
Each mat has a special Snapchat code sticker, which when scanned with a smartphone, produces an augmented reality animation of one of the eggs on the bar or table that the user is at. There are 6 eggs to find. If the user doesn’t have a smart phone, it is also possible to collect the mats by finding the different eggs images within the sticker.
Wildcraft Brewery Director, Mike Deal said ‘We are always looking to do things differently. This competition has stretched our imaginations and the mats and animations have turned out brilliantly. The idea was born out of wanting to get people to visit pubs they may not have before. A late Easter and uncertainty around Brexit has given a hard start to many bars around Norfolk, we hope to get people into them using this fun intiative.’
Although no purchase is necessary, Wildcraft are urging people to have a drink of something while they search for the missing eggs. ‘If our beer isn’t on, look for another local one to try, there are lots of us out there!’ said Mike.
The competition will run from the 19th April through to the 2nd of June, where winners of the flights will be announced live at ‘WildFest at the Brewery’ by Wildcat pilot, Willie Cruickshank. There are lots of other prizes on offer as well, including packs of beer, polypins for parties, t-shirts, brewery tours and free tickets to Wildfest events throughout 2019.

About Wildcraft Brewery
Wildcraft Brewery was formed in 2015 after Mike and Mark met through a shared interest in an online game called Clash of Clans.
Meeting in the Coach and Horses in Norwich, Mike explained his dream of having his own brewery where beers were made with foraged ingredients and flavours were experimented with.
Wildcraft Brewery launched its first brew in November 2016, it sold well and received great feedback. They have since created 15 different brews which have been well received.
